Is there anything worse than saving a link to show your friend, spouse, or coworker — only to completely forget about it, then remember weeks later when it’s too late? I can think of maybe three things, tops — as far as I’m concerned this is one of the most important problems in the world.
That’s exactly why I built Reminders in Plinky — so you never lose track of an important link again. The latest update also lets you pin your most important Folders and Tags for quick access. Plus, you can customize the interface to highlight or hide Folders or Tags, depending on how you like to stay organized.
Reminders: Never Forget a Link Again

I rely on reminders in almost every app I use — whether it’s Slack for messages, a to-do list for tasks, or my calendar for appointments. But what I’ve always needed was a way to set reminders for links I’ve saved — so I’d actually revisit them at the right time.
For a while, I tried adding links to Apple’s Reminders app, but that quickly cluttered my to-do list. I’m not alone in this — many people struggle to keep track of saved links when they actually need them. Plinky’s new Link Reminders feature solves this problem.
Here are just a few ways they come in handy:
Reading later: Articles or reports you don’t have time for now but want to revisit later when they fit into your schedule.
Watching or listening later: Videos, podcasts, or interviews you want to check out at a specific time — like during lunch or on your commute.
Planning a recipe for later: Save a dish you want to try for the weekend or a special occasion, and get an alert when it’s time to start cooking.
Checking for updates: News articles, forum threads, or ongoing projects where new information might be added.
Booking or signing up: Events, courses, or webinars you’re interested in but can’t register for yet.
Revisiting upcoming sales: Set a reminder for an online sale, concert tickets, or product drops so you don’t miss out.
Setting a Reminder

By default, Set Reminder is a Long Press Action, but you can customize it to be a Swipe Action or Save Screen Action — whatever works best for you.
Setting a Reminder is easy:
Long-press a saved link.
Tap the bell icon.
Choose a quick reminder time from five configurable options, or set a specific date and time.
To remove a reminder, long-press the link and select Remove Reminder.
To configure your quick-access durations and times, go to Plinky > Settings > Reminders and customize them to fit your workflow.
Pinned Folders & Tags: Quick Access to Your Favorites

Saving links is just the first step — finding them quickly when you need them is just as important. That’s why Plinky now lets you pin your most-used Folders and Tags for instant access.
Instead of opening menus and scrolling through lists, Pinned Folders & Tags keep your most important categories at the top of your screen, just one tap away.
Pinning a Folder (or Tag):
Tap the Folder or Tag icon in the Plinky menu bar.
Long-press any Folder or Tag you wish to pin.
Select Pin from the menu.
Your Pinned items will now appear at the top of your links list.
To unpin, long-press a pinned Folder or Tag and select Unpin.
Now it’s easier than ever to access your most important links — no digging through menus required.
Customize Your Workflow: Folders, Tags, or Both
Everyone organizes links differently. Some people rely entirely on Folders, while others prefer Tags. And then, there are those who use both.
In addition to the dozens of customization options Plinky already supports, the new Display Folders & Tags setting lets you tailor the interface to match your workflow. Choose exactly how you want your links to be organized across the app.
You can now choose from four different options:
Folders & Tags: Displays both, with Folders listed before Tags across the app.
Tags & Folders: Displays both, but Tags listed before Folders across the app.
Folders only: Hides Tags and only shows Folders.
Tags only: Hides Folders and only shows Tags.
To adjust this setting, go to Plinky > Settings > Behaviors and select your preferred Display Folders & Tags option.
No matter how you organize your links, Plinky adapts to fit your workflow.
Small but Meaningful Improvements
Alongside major features like Reminders and Pinned Folders & Tags, Plinky 4.0 includes a series of refinements to improve usability, performance, and customization. These updates may be small, but they make a big difference in the way you use the app every day.
New Get Link Details Shortcut: Retrieve a webpage’s title, description, URL, and more in Shortcuts without complex web scraping.
Save PDFs: There was a bug that prevented Plinky from saving PDFs, but now you can!
Fixes for ChatGPT: ChatGPT uses tricky workarounds to prevent easy link saving. Plinky now handles these cases better.
Smarter Folder Navigation: Your current folder now appears as a dropdown in the navigation bar, making it easier to switch between views.
Tags Bar Redesign (iPhone): A cleaner, more streamlined way to browse and remove tags.
Easier Untagged Links Selection: Managing untagged links is now much simpler.
Edit Link In Progress Banner: If you forget to save changes while editing a link, a prompt will help you get back to it.
Noir Theme in the Save Screen: The Save Screen now reflects Plinky’s Noir color scheme.
Recent Links Widget fixes: The widget now loads all your saved links, even if you have many. If you still experience issues, let me know.
Performance enhancements: Thanks to Harlan Haskins, Plinky is now faster and smoother across the board. 🙇🏻♂️
One More Thing
I have some big news — Plinky’s most requested feature is almost here.
Starting next week, the first beta of Plinky for Mac will begin rolling out to TestFlight users! You’ve always been able to save links from any device, but soon, you’ll have full access to your helpful link-saving app, right on your Mac.
And this is just the start. Over time, I’ll make Plinky feel right at home on macOS, adding novel features that take full advantage of the desktop experience.
Plinky 4 is a big step forward in my goal to make Plinky a terrific link-saving app for everyone. And there’s even more to come. Following the Mac app will be Full-text Search, Permanent Archives, and Reader Mode, followed by Advanced Search, Shared Folders, and even deeper customization in future updates.
If you love Plinky, have an idea to share, or spot a bug, I'd love to hear from you. Your support means the world to me — so if you have a moment, an App Store review would be greatly appreciated. And if you haven’t tried Plinky yet, you can download it on the App Store and see what’s new! 🙏🏼
I love making Plinky, and I can’t wait to make it even better for you.
