I've been hard at work for the past month on Plinky 3.0, a major update that brings your saved links to exciting new places. This release is designed to seamlessly integrate with iOS 18's latest improvements. Here's a quick rundown of what's new:
Widgets Galore: A wide array of customizable widgets to view your Recent Links, Pinned Links, or links from any folder or Tag. Available on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, and in iOS 18's new Control Center.
Smarter Searching: Plinky now integrates with Spotlight and supports Apple Intelligence, making your saved links more accessible than ever.
Shiny New App Icons: Plinky's app icons have been completely redesigned, not only to fit perfectly with iOS 18's new dark and tinted modes, but also give Plinky a fresh new look.

Widgets: Access Your Saved Links Anywhere
Plinky 3.0 introduces 27 different widget variants for your Home Screen, Lock Screen, and iOS 18’s new Control Center. That's a lot of options, but they're designed to be easy to set up. I wanted to provide a good balance of choice, functionality, and aesthetic preferences, so with these widgets you get:
Pick A List, Any List: Whether you want quick access to your Recent Links, Pinned Links, or the links in a specific Folder, or Tag, you can make a widget to match.
Size Options: Choose between small, medium, or large widgets, to fit right into your Home Screen layout.
Color Customization: Home Screen widgets come in 13 colors, to match your style.
Configurable Actions: Turn any Home Screen widget into a launcher by setting custom actions for taps on the widget, link cards, or built-in buttons.
Quick Access: Lock Screen and Control Center widgets provide key information at a glance and serve as shortcuts to your favorite Folders, Tags, or quick link saving.
Search & Apple Intelligence
The links you’ve saved in Plinky now extend beyond the app itself, making them accessible from anywhere on your device:
Spotlight Integration: Quickly find your saved links by typing a few letters in your iPhone or iPad's search bar. No need to open Plinky first!
Apple Intelligence: Starting with iOS 18.1, Plinky's new search feature will work with Apple Intelligence. This means Siri can access your saved links, making them available in apps like Calendar, Mail, Notes, and more.
Shiny New App Icons

While it may not be the headline feature, I've put a lot of effort into perfecting Plinky's app icons:
Every existing app icon has been redesigned from scratch, featuring subtle pops of color.
10 new color icons have been added, with a fun style that looks like a button on your home screen.
Plinky's primary app icon is now compatible with iOS 18's dark and tinted modes, ensuring it always looks at home on your Home Screen
These updates reflect my commitment to continually refining every aspect of Plinky, not just functionally, but visually as well.
What’s Next For Plinky
Plinky 3.0 brings a host of features that take advantage of iOS 18, but I'm already working on the next release. I'm very excited to announce that I've begun working on the next major update: a native Mac app for Plinky. 👩🏼💻👨🏻💻👩🏾💻
Plinky is a labor of love, and I love hearing what people think about it. Whether you want to share something you love, have an idea for how I can improve Plinky for you, or (gosh forbid) you've found a bug, please don't be shy about reaching out.
